Greetings from Bangkok

Dear  colleagues and honorable members,

On behalf of the organizing committee, it is my great pleasure to extend a cordial invitation to the 7th World Society of Lingual Orthodontics(WSLO) Congress. The meeting will be held from June 29th through July 1st, 2017 at Anoma Hotel, Bangkok, Thailand, under the theme of "Global Innovation and Practical Concept for Aesthetic Orthodontic Treatment". Reflecting the growing interest in lingual orthodontics among the leading orthodontists in the world, various lingual brackets and supporting systems have become in use. In addition to the conventional fixed appliances, recent advances include CAD/CAM systems for the fabrication of the individualized appliances, various self-ligating lingual brackets and combined use of skeletal anchorage devices.

Lingual braces applied to surgical cases and juvenile patients are also an extension of the scope. In view of the latest trends in this field, it is now the time for us to envision the future of lingual orthodontics, as an important boost for further professional and scientific development in this area. We are sure that this meeting will inspire the participants to facilitate the lingual orthodontic treatment in our daily practice and also spread and share the idea among professionals.

Bangkok is not only the capital city of Thailand, but the cultural and industrial hub city in Asia, where you can have plenty of amusements, from the most traditional heritages to the most cutting-edge technologies. I hope you will enjoy the night markets, magnificent shopping malls and newly built cultural centers. For those who have visited Bangkok, the updated feature of the city will be even more stunning.

The WSLO has not only been an academic meeting, but also an important occasion to share the friendship among the members and colleagues. The 7th WSLO meeting will provide exciting memories during the reception and Gala dinner.

We are looking forward to seeing you in Bangkok, at the 7th WSLO Congress. Hope to see you all.

Warm regard

Professor Amonpong Vachiramon
Chairman
7th WSLO Congress

The amendment of the bylaws has been closed.

Dear Founding Members of the World Society of Lingual Orthodontics,

Since the launch of the new committee, we have reorganized the Active Member listings and accounting regarding annual fees, and renovated our website. Unfortunately, some of the information on the Active Member list and the record of annual fee payments were missing, and we have had much difficulties in operating the society.   Therefore, in our efforts to operate the WSLO in a practical and effective manner, the Executive Committee has decided to amend the Bylaws after consulting with the founding members. We have sent email questionnaires to all of the Active Members regarding the revisions of our Bylaws, and I would like to present the results.
The first amendment about requirements to retain the active membership, 96.1% agreed with the amendment that requires attending the Congress meeting from every 2 meetings to every 3 meetings.
The second amendment about the membership dues, 81.6% agreed with having a lifetime membership fee.
The third amendment about membership fees of the international and national lingual orthodontics societies, 93.4% agreed with the amendment.
The last amendment allowing online vote for revisions in the Bylaws was accepted in 98.7% of the responders.
Based on the online vote results, I would like to ask for your understanding in abiding with the proposed revisions.

Sincerely,
Hee-Moon Kyung
